Steve is the unquestioned supreme leader of the Hall family, His Excellency, President for Life, Field Marshal, Al Hadji, King of Scotland, Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea, and Conqueror of the American Empire in Washington in General and Lynnwood in Particular. His transcendent birth occurred in San Antonio as he emerged walking from his mother's patriotic womb, graciously thanking the medical staff for their good work. Having earned every possible honor at the esteemed Judson High School, he victoriously matriculated at the University of Texas. Before being awarded his degree in Eastern European Studies, the most profitable course of study, he served a glorious mission in Croatia. Upon elevating the pulchritudinous Aimee to the position of Wife, he sired three delightful heirs to his Throne of Awesomeness. The MBA candidates of City University of Seattle now bask in his intellectual prowess as his classmates.
Aimee
a.k.a. Wifey Brand Cereal
Aimee
Aimee grew up near Mill Creek, Washington and is half-Canadian (though Steve doesn't believe her). She went to the University of Washington for a couple years, and got her MRS degree when she married Steve in March 2005.
She has worked for a regional seaplane airline for going on 7 years. She has studied natural childbirth and maternity care for the past couple years, which led her to decide on a home birth with our second baby and prepared her for the surprise unassisted birth with our third. She loves talking about birth, so if you get her started, it may be awhile, but she really is totally open to answering questions and helping others learn too. She dreams of someday becoming a midwife, but until then, she will happily learn more and share her bit of knowledge with others.
Aimee loves watching some sports and many TV shows. Her sports loyalties are varied in origin but passionate regardless. She will freely admit to liking some really crappy music (hello Hanson and Spice Girls!), but since Steve loves Steven Segal movies, he has no room to talk.
Jillian
a.k.a. Birdie Girl
Jillian
Jilly is our adorable little girl, who turned 5 this November! She is a happy, sunny, smiley, chatty little girl who has very strong opinions and isn't afraid to share them. Granted, she loves attention like a fat kid loves cake.
Her favorite activities are getting into things she's not supposed, throwing her puppets all over the family room, reading books, jumping and running sprints across the apartment, and bath time. She is quite the artist and loves practicing writing her name on everything! She has had some struggles with delayed verbal skills, but since starting preschool in spring 2010, she has exploded with knowledge and learning!
Jilly has more nicknames than anyone we know (and that's saying something!). Let's see how many we can list: Jilly Bean, Beans, Beaners, Beanie, Beanie Baby, Beanie Beast, Beanie Breath, Jilly Bird, Birdie, Bird Girl, Bird Pie, Silly Jilly, Sillian, Jigglian, Jilly Pilly Pumkin Pie, Grah (Croatian for Beans), Gooberface, Goofy Pants, Stinky Pants, etc...
Jason
a.k.a. Wildcat
Jason
Jason came into this world in his grandparents' bathtub and has become our sweet and cuddly little baby boy, 2 years old now! He loves walking around, pulling Tupperware and blankets out of the cupboards and DVDs and toys off shelves. His favorite toys are cars, trucks, and balls. He loves to sing, especially songs with actions. "Book of Mormon Stories" and "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man" are his favorites. We call him Goo or Gooey a lot of the time, and he totally responds to it.
Jason loves going outside and is always racing to the front door if he hears it open. He can be a bit reserved upon meeting someone and/or being in a new place for the first time, but warms up and is very loving. He talks all the time and says the most awesome things. He is best friends with his big sister and can totally take her in a fight. But he really adores his baby sister, asking to hold her, giving her kisses all the time, and sharing his toys with her. He is a very cute brother and we love having him!
Kayla
a.k.a. Ducky
Kayla
Kayla has shown us that she has a very unique sense of timing from the very beginning! We hadn't planned on having another baby for a couple more years, but along she came. Then she went 8 days past her due date. And once she finally decided to be born, she did it in a big hurry, with only 1 hr and 15 mins of labor. She was born in our apartment, caught by Mama, with only Daddy in attendance. Quite the story for this little girl! She started crawling and got teeth early and is already trying to walk! We suspect we'll have to continue getting used to her 'timing' for the rest of our lives!
